This was the first time I have done a screen printing. It is a good fun to do it.

Screen Printing Process

Last halloween, I joined a volunteer to work for a Bigdraw event which ran by Gallit Shaltiel and these is a part of White Night event in Brighton,UK. The event prepare colors and pieces of hard paper for children to create their own object by their own imagination which is called 3D jigsaw. I helped them to cut and press many pieces of hard paper on the wall and prepare the location on the halloween night. Anyway, it was good fun. ^^

This issue I designed in concept “Opening ears, eyes, and month = opening heart”

” If we think about birthday, the first idea that may come is a cake. Yes, it is. This is a birthday cake of Computer Arts Thailand ”

After, I didn’t post any work such a long time so it’s time to post some. this is my illustration for celebrate the first year anniversary of a magazine which called ” Computer arts, Thailand ” Actually, Computer arts first issue was published in UK long time ago and many famous designers all around the world have shown their works on this magazine and many year later, it has extremely become a popular magazine for designers. Last year, some of Thai people who love in arts imported this magazine so that Thai artist can read it in Thai language and this month is the anniversary’s month that the first Computer Arts Thailand was published and they chose an illustratation’s issue to publish on their birth month. They invited 5 illustrators in order to create 5 anniversary’s picture and I was chosen too.

Behind the scenes and processes

This work, I used plasticine to be material of this work and I tried to make it seem like a cake though it isn’t similar ^^ because I thought that plasticine has invisible meaning such as a formation, create, etc. and this meaning seem suitable with this magazine as well. However, I just actually want to give a designing cake in order to say “Happy anniversary to them ^^”

Love story in stores

Eventually released the album Love Story by Spicydisc. It has long been made. This is a job that cooperate with Amplifier. In this album has a small collection of artists such as Pun Pibulkit, Nui Viriyapa, Oon Raorungfung, Kif Monotone, etc. With the content of this album is related to love like the name of this CD album so cover has been interpreted from a ball in a variety of apple that is like the symbol of love in different aspects.

ในที่สุดก็วางแผงซะที กับอัลบั้ม Love Story จากค่าย Spicydisc ที่ทำไว้นานมากแล้ว งานนี้เป็นงานที่ทำร่วมกับคุณ Amplifier ซึ่งภายในอัลบั้มนี้นั้นได้รวบรวมศิลปินรุ่นเล็กรุ่นใหญ่ไว้อย่างมากมาย อาทิเช่น พี่ปั่น-ไพบูลย์เกียรติ์ ,พี่นุ้ย-วิริยาภา ,ออน-ละอองฟอง, กิ๊ฟ โมโนโทน เป็นต้น ด้วยเนื้อหาเพลงในอัลบั้มนี้นั้นเกี่ยวเนื่องกับความรักดั่งเช่น ชื่อของอัลบั้ม ปกซีดี นี้ จึงถูกตีความออกมาเป็น ลูก apple ในแบบต่างๆๆ ที่เป็นเหมือนสัญลักษณ์ของความรัก ในแง่มุมที่ต่างกัน

After the prosecution’s interpretation of this album has already arrived at the steps. Initially, the most important thing is not to do covers, but a decorative device that will still shoot scenes for a booklet in this album which has not much time so factory fire must begin almost immediately. In section of interior equipment scene, Amplifier took almost responsibility. For me, I did the plenty apples in the picture above. In addition to apples to see above it also has other much whether a pair of three-dimensional apple, Giant apple red and green, Apple glass and more.

หลังจากตีความโจทย์ของอัลบั้มนี้ได้แล้วก็มาถึงขั้นตอนการทำ ช่วงแรกนั้นสิ่งที่สำคัญที่สุดไม่ใช่การทำปก แต่เป็น อุปกรณ์ตกแต่งฉากสำหรับถ่ายภาพนิ่งที่จะมาทำเป็น booklet ภายในปกซีดี ด้วยเวลาที่มีไม่มากนัก จึงต้องเริ่มเปิดโรงงานนรกแทบจะทันทีทันใด ซึ่งในส่วนของ อุปกรณ์ตกแต่งฉาก นี้ได้คุณ Amplifier รับผิดชอบซะส่วนใหญ่ ส่วนผมก็ทำไอ้ลูก apples เยอะๆ ในรูปข้างบนนั้นล่ะคับ เล่นเอาเหงือตกกันไปข้าง ซึ่งนอกจาก apples ที่เห็นข้างบนนั้นก็ยังมีอย่างอื่นอีกหลายอย่าง ไม่ว่าจะเป็น แว่น apple สามมิติ, Apple ยักษ์ สีแดง แล้วเขียว, กระจก apple และอีกมากมาย

After have done various devices, next step was taking the photo that process is pretty tangle because in the day is taken, we needed to join with music video team which is to feel like Cinderella but very lucky, Oom form the Aperture Group had came to take the photo of artist in the booklet for me so everything seem much easier.

หลังจากที่ทำ อุปกรณ์ต่างๆนาๆ จนเสร็จสมบูณ์ แล้วนั้น ก็มาถึงขั้นตอนการ ถ่ายภาพ ซึ่งก็ทุลักทุเล ทีเดียว เพราะว่าวันถ่ายนั้น เราต้องไปแอบถ่ายในกองมิวสิควีดีโอ ซึ่งก็ให้ความรู้สึกเหมือนลูกเมียน้อยมากๆ haha โชคดีได้ คุณอุ้ม จาก Aperture Group มาถ่าย ศิลปินใน booklet ด้านในให้ ทำให้อะไรต่อมิอะไรดูง่ายขึ้น

When everything was completed. Arrived at the most difficult step was to do a cover, it must be that so many-sided. so it was essential to make it in 3d which I haven’t done it before.

เมื่อทุกอย่างเสร็จสมบูรณ์ ก็มาถึงขั้นตอนที่ยากที่สุดนั้นคือการทำ หน้าปก ด้วยมันจะต้องมีเหลี่ยมที่มากมายนั้น จึงจำเป็นอย่างยิ่งที่จะต้องขึ้น 3d ก่อน แต่ด้วยทำ 3d ไม่เป็นก็ต้องมั่วๆกันไป ลองดูตามภาพแล้วกันคับ

After the completed, it was time to take the photo again. This time, the photographer Oul came to help me . He helped me to the full. He set up his house to be a studio in order to take the cover shot. Firstly, I think that it will take just a few time to completed but it is not.

หลังจากเสร็จสมบูณ์ตามรูปแล้วนั้นก็ต้องมาถ่ายกันอีกแล้วครับ คราวนี้ก็อีกเช่นเคยคับได้ ช่างภาพ อุล มาถ่ายให้ อุล เต็มที่มากถึงขนาดจัดชั้นด่านฟ้าบ้านเค้าให้เป็น studio ถ่ายทำกันเลยทีเดียว ตอนแรกนึกว่าจะถ่ายแปปเดียวก็เสร็จ แต่มันไม่ใช่อย่างนั้นนะซิคับ เพราะกว่าจะได้ภาพที่ผมถูกใจก็กินเวลาไปเกือบค่อนวันเลยทีเดียว

When all completed. The next step is printing. In the first place when I  talk with the printer. The cost of cover is very expensive so I needed to talk with him again in order to find which way that is suitable and to be able to reduce the price down. With relatively close to the time required so I needed to redesign immediately.

และเมื่อทุกอย่างเสร็จสิ้น ก็มาถึงขั้นตอนสุดท้ายนั้นก็คือการส่งโรงพิมพ์คับ ตอนแรกที่ไปคุยกับโรงพิมพ์นั้น เค้าตีราคาปกนี้ออกมาแพงมาก จนต้องเข้าไปคุยกับพี่เค้าอีกรอบ ซึ่งก็ต้องหาวิธีกันว่าจะต้องทำยังไงถึงจะสามารถลดราคามันลงมาได้ และด้วยเวลาที่ค่อนข้างกระชั้นจนถึงกับต้องแก้แบบสดกันตอนนั้นเลยทีเดียว จนในที่สุดก็ผ่านพ้นไปด้วยดีคับ
